Captain:
John
Crupi
Captain
John Crupi grew up sailing in Southern Florida and began
working on sport fish boats in his teens. He developed a
passion for the sport and started operating as well as
managing a variety of boats. He worked for Hatteras Yachts
for four years before starting his own yacht management
company in South Florida. John refitted several yachts in
the 50’ to 80’ range along with maintaining an average of
fifty boats per month as managing partner of Horizon Yacht
Management. His years of experience on the East Coast
eventually led to a shift into motor yachts. Making a move
to Seattle landed him the position of first mate aboard
Dorothea. He took over as Captain in September 2003.
John’s enthusiasm and knowledge of sport fishing has had a
significant impact on the cruising schedule and management
of Dorothea. In 2003 John purchased and outfitted a 26’
Glacier Bay named Post One. The fishing boat was a big hit
with the owner and in June 2004 the Glacier Bay was traded
for a larger and more comfortable 33’ Grady White. For the
past three years Dorothea and Post One have cruised and
fished some of the world’s most prestigious spots with great
success.
John participated in the 2002 Port Townsend yard time and
over the last three years it has been his goal to initiate
and complete the major refit that is now taking place in
Seattle. John’s relationship with the owners and their deep
connection and love for the boat has compelled him to make
Dorothea ready and able to cruise the world for many years
to come.

First Mate/Administrator:
Jenifer Mosley
Jenifer Mosley joined the crew
of Dorothea in September 2003 as First Mate after previously
working aboard as stewardess for a short time. Her love for
the water and boating began at a young age growing up on the
coast of North Carolina. After graduating from North
Carolina State, with a B.S. in Travel and Tourism
Management, she entered the yachting industry.
Jenifer worked aboard the Calypso, a 72’ Stephens, for 2
years as Mate/Stew traveling the East Coast. Her desires to
forward her career and for continued travel convinced her to
obtain her 100 ton USCG Masters License. Jenifer then
shifted her focus and became the co-owner and captain of
LuLu Cruises, a sightseeing boat operating in N.C. and
Florida. In 2001 she returned to the yachting industry as a
freelance Mate/Stew until landing a Mate’s position aboard
Magic Time, a 107’ Christensen. Traveling the West Coast on
Magic Time Jenifer was introduced to the crew of Dorothea
while in San Diego.
During shipyard periods, Jenifer multi-tasks and expands her
duties to include office management, budgeting, accounting,
and all other necessary evils. In her spare time Jenifer
enjoys hiking, wakeboarding, surfing, and fishing.
Jenifer and John have been working together as a team for
the past 4 ˝ years. Both Jenifer and John see Dorothea not
only as a job, but as a way of life, and would like to thank
the owners for this amazing opportunity.
